WHEN SHOULD WE SEND A PATIENT TO YOU FOR HELP?
Every situation can be based on a variety of reasons; some patients may only have mild behavioral or mental health issues they are dealing with, while others could be quite severe. We are proud to offer support at all different levels that might be needed. Some of the more common reasons patients are sent to us is for severe depression, anxiety, thoughts of self-harm, auditory or visual hallucinations or racing thoughts.
WHAT ARE VISITING HOURS FOR THOSE IN INPATIENT PROGRAMS?
Every unit has set visiting hours and times, and those who are approved and designated to visit will receive this information from the patient’s therapist. We will contact potential approved visitors with a time and date where they will be able to see the patient. We do not allow more than 2 visitors at a time and strongly discourage bringing children.
WHAT IS TREATMENT LIKE?
Structure is key to our success. We know and understand a therapeutic structured environment is the focus of everything we do. Treatment is delivered by a multiple professionals who work as a team to provide individual support to the patient. The programs are coordinated in group settings as well as individual time. Each program includes varying levels of group therapy, individual therapy, recreational therapy and medication management.
WHAT DO YOU ASSESS FOR DURING THE FREE ASSESSMENT?
During an assessment call, our trained mental health professionals are looking for varying degrees of issues, which could range just from something very simple, to situations as serious as instituting a 72-hour involuntary hold if the patient is deemed a threat to themselves or others. Some patients will do well in our outpatient settings, while others will require an inpatient plan. We are completely willing and able to give all options to the client and help as much as possible!
DO I NEED TO HAVE A FORMAL REFERRAL TO GET AN ASSESSMENT?
No. Anyone can call us 24/7 for help and support. It is actually the clinical team internally who recommends the best course of action.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED HELP?
While there is no specific answer to that question, the usual rule of thumb to determining if one needs help is when the individual is already believing they need help. WHAT IS DISCHARGE PLANNING AND CASE MANAGEMENT?
This is essentially the process of discharging a patient and everything it might entail. A therapist or discharge planner would work with you in regards to the entire transition process back to your community. Everything from scheduling outpatient services to support services will be available to the patient.
HOW DOES RECREATIONAL THERAPY WORK?
This is something that we would include in addition to other types of therapy. Recreational therapy focuses on engaging the mind and creativity, as well as the body. Things such as artistic pursuits, music and sports.
HOW DOES GROUP THERAPY WORK?
This is a discussion group lead by a program therapist that is designed to assist the patient in identifying and resolving the problem(s) which precipitated the need for their hospitalization. These are problems which, if unaddressed, will likely contribute to the individual having continued difficulty in less structured settings after discharge. This group encourages patients to see that they have choices to make on a day to day basis which strongly influence their lives.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF FAMILY THERAPY AT CLEAR VIEW?
Family therapy is utilized when a patient is still residing with their family, or have very close ties. The goal with every program therapist who engages in family therapy with the patient is to help develop positive family communication, achieve designated goals and help to deal with coping mechanisms relating to family issues.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM INDIVIDUAL THERAPY SESSIONS?
Our individual therapy sessions for patients can vary greatly depending on their specific needs. The program therapist is the one who will make all the calls in regards to the patient’s needs, and will utilize a variety of therapy and various techniques in order for the patient to achieve his or her goals.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND IS DISCHARGED?
A follow-up appointment is scheduled with a provider in the patient’s community, and we share with them their treatment plan, a discharge summary and anything related to potential new medications.

WHAT IF MY FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND DOESN’T BELIEVE THEY NEED HELP?
This can be a delicate question to answer. The most important aspect is to help encourage your friend or family member and help support them during their time of need. Offer to call us together, or even bring them in for a free assessment. Our environment is very inviting, friendly and open, which can make all the difference in a patient’s comfort level. If you believe your loved one is in a potential life-threatening situation, please call 911 immediately.
HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT MY PATIENT OR CLIENT TO BE IN THE INPATIENT OR OUTPATIENT PROGRAM?
Every length of stay will change depending on the patient’s needs. The average expected time for an Inpatient stay would be nine to fifteen days, although it can certainly be less or more. The Outpatient program is structured each day and week, and generally lasts two to six weeks in length.
WHAT IF THEY RECEIVE AN ASSESSMENT AND YOU ARE NOT THE RIGHT PLACE FOR THEM? WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
We understand there is not a one-size-fits-all approach for every patient. If we are not the right fit, we work hard to ensure that a patient has plenty of options to choose from outside of our facilities, and leave them with follow-up measures in place.

WHAT PAYMENT IS ACCEPTED, AND WHAT INSURANCE?
We accept Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare and most commercial insurances. This is something our team coordinates and all you need to do is send your patient or client to us for an assessment. We are happy to help answer any questions you or your patient or client may have related to cost.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THEY DISCHARGE? DO YOU FOLLOW THE PATIENTS/CLIENTS?
Upon discharge, every patient is scheduled to meet with a provider in the community for a follow-up appointment. The provider in the community will receive a discharge summary outlining a treatment plan and any new medications. Our team does not follow the patient upon discharge but is happy to help answer any questions to ensure a smooth transition.
WHAT DO YOU ASSESS FOR DURING THE CLINICAL ASSESSMENT?
Our trained staff is assessing for all levels of care when a person is being assessed. This means we are looking to learn more about the person’s mental health needs through a series of questions and observation. At times, a person may be need to be placed on a 72-hour involuntary hold if they pose a danger to themselves or others. Some patients may be appropriate for our outpatient setting, depending on their situation. Sometimes we will make a recommendation and the individual will refuse. We are happy to give options about the local resources in the community.

Some of the most common reasons providers look to our team to help is when someone is suffering from anxiety, feelings of depression, changes in relationships, racing thoughts, auditory or visual hallucinations and thoughts or feelings of self-harm.

We take a multidisciplinary team approach to ensure each patient receives individualized quality care in a therapeutic environment. We understand behavioral health treatment is not a “one size fits all” and our team works with the patient and their families to work towards the best outcome.

We take great care to ensure our patients feel safe, comfortable and welcomed in our environment. We have thoughtfully designed our hospital to be as therapeutic as possible with outdoor courtyards, gymnasiums and plenty of windows allowing the natural light to enter rooms.
HOW DO YOU SERVE DIFFERENT POPULATIONS IN ONE PLACE?
Our team understands the diverse groups of people we serve come with special therapeutic considerations. The structure of our hospital’s programs ensures all the patients receive age-appropriate treatment related to individual therapy, group therapy, recreational therapy and medication management. Our programming is delivered separately between our seniors, adults and adolescent age groups.
